Liam Meldung - Week 7 - Friends
Tricked ya! You thought it was going to be about the show. Not exactly.
What is a friend? I believe this is a question that is left to our own interpretations. I’ve had my fair share of friends, and not all of those I’ve continued to be friends with. I have found that the definition of a friend for me is that they are loyal, honest, kind, fun, funny, sometimes weird, and overall someone who is there for you even when you don’t want them to be.
Just to give a few examples, and shout out a few people that have really impacted me so far this year. Adi has helped me a lot. She has helped me with homework, but what I find most important is that she helps me feel less stressed about school and everything going on in my life. A more specific example is when we’re in Spanish, Adi is my comedic relief. We sit next to each other and make jokes and talk constantly, obviously not Señora's favorite thing, but it helps me a lot when I’m in a bad mood, or when I’m feeling overwhelmed. Ben Heller is always there even if I don’t want him to be. I remember when my grandfather died, in freshman year. I came to school the day we found out, and I was almost in tears. Ben noticed, asked me what’s wrong, and went and brought water for me. I know I make fun of him and all that, but he really is one of my closest friends and he never lets me down. Next is Jessica. I am one of those people to always worry about school and never let myself let loose, have fun, and Jessica helps me do that. When we hang out I’m never bored, and I’m definitely never thinking about what work I have to do. Jessica and I can literally be sitting in her car and doing nothing, and we’re still laughing. My last example is Hannah. When she first came back to the school I was not expecting us to be friends, I didn’t even expect to talk to her at all, but somehow we did, and I’m really glad. She has become one of my closest friends, and like all the others she has helped me with so much. When I was on my teen tour this summer, I was not having the best time, and she was always there for me, even when she was on her own teen tour. I would call, she would answer. We all need people like these in our lives, and I know for sure we will be friends for life. Of course I want to give a shoutout to all the others, but I have limited words and they all know how much they mean to me as well.
Any friends you’d like to give a shout out to?
Shoutout to Samantha for such a great weekend watching a non Jewish purim movie and having sushi. Love ya even though you can’t see this blog post.
