Leah Nagle - Week 8 - I’m Excited for Winter Break

It’s strange how the semester feels like it’s dragged on forever, but at the same time, I can’t believe we have less than six weeks until winter break! I have been talking non-stop about how excited I am to have a good break from school. I’m sure every senior feels the same way.

In my opinion, winter break can surprisingly be more fun than summer. I love winter break because it's a good amount of time off school, without being too long. In summer, Florida is just way too hot, but during winter break, the temperature is perfect, it’s not too cold and it’s not too hot. I love how I can still go to the beach in December!

Another reason I love winter break is because of the exciting Christmas vibes. Although I don’t celebrate Christmas (obviously), I still appreciate the colorful holiday lights displayed in public places, catchy Christmas songs, Christmas movies, and holiday sales in all my favorite stores.

I’m looking forward to spending time with my friends and family, going shopping, having some relaxing self-care days, getting my hair and nails done, and watching some of my favorite classic movies and tv shows. I am also excited because my family was planning to just stay in Boca over winter break, but now we have decided to go on vacation. We’re going to Orlando for a few days, and the best part is that we are staying in a hotel with a water park in it! I can’t wait to explore Orlando and enjoy relaxing at the hotel.

Are you as excited as me for winter break? What are your winter break plans?

  1. I'm also really looking forward to winter break. The break will be my first time going to Israel since 8th grade. COVID ruined my family's plan to have me and my brother get bar mitzvahed at the Kotel. Now, at 17, I feel as if I'm too old to do so. Israel is my favorite place to be- the food, the music, the people. It feels like my home. Can't wait til the break!

  2. I can't wait for Winter Break to start. School-related pressures will go away, and I will have a restful and stress-free two weeks. This winter I will be going on a family road trip to a cabin in Georgia. I have traveled northward for Winter Break for five years now, and somehow manage to miss seeing snow each time, so I hope this year I get lucky enough to experience it.
