Avital Horowitz - Week 7 - And now we wait
November 1st is now a past date. Honestly, thank god. I have been waiting for that date to pass for too long. I know everyone reading this knows exactly what I am talking about, but I am going to elaborate anyway.
November 1st is the date our college applications were due. Thankfully, I got all of my applications in on time. I have never felt so relieved in my entire life. Applying to college is definitely the most stressful thing I have ever experienced. There is so much work and behind the scenes that goes into actually applying that so many people do not see. For example, I am sure all of the lowerclassmen understand that the senior class is currently undergoing a ton of stress due to college applications, but I do not think they understand the full extent of anxiety these deadlines give us. I remember when I was a lowerclassman, I did not really think about college applications as it did not apply to me. I figured it was not that big of a deal because I did not need to even think about that for so many years. Although now that I am a senior and have actually applied to college, I understand all of the "hype" around applying to college. After finally submitting to all of the schools, I felt this huge pressure taken off of my shoulders and it was honestly one of the must relieving feeling I have ever experienced. Us teenagers are given such high expectations on what we have to be and it causes us to be full of stress and anxiety. That is why it felt so good to have such a huge expectation finally out of my hands.
How do you feel after submitting your college applications? Do you feel a sense of relief as well?
For me, applying to college was a lot. However, I feel that waiting for everything to be uploaded on each college’s portal is more stressful. I’ll be more relieved once all of the sections have a green check next to them. Mazal tov everyone!
ReplyDeleteI feel relief after having applied to almost all of my schools on that fateful deadline. However, I still have to film some supplements for most of my school, so I'm still a little stressed. I'm grateful that the brunt of the work is done, and now I can take a little bit of load off when it comes to my workload.
